TL;DR: The Wyze Bulb Cam Pan Color ($99.98, available October 22, 2026 at Wyze.com) screws into a standard E26 ceiling or garage light socket and combines a 2.5K pan-and-tilt camera (360° pan, 180° tilt, free AI motion tracking) with an 1,100-lumen smart light in 16 million colors. It records 24/7 to a microSD card up to 512GB with no subscription required, connects over dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and works with Alexa, Google Home and IFTTT. Buy it if you have a ceiling or garage socket where you want light and full-room coverage from one device. Skip it if you need HomeKit or Matter support — Wyze does not list either for this model.

Overview

The Wyze Bulb Cam Pan Color is the third launch of Wyze Week (October 19–23), announced on October 22, 2026, and the successor to the 2025 Wyze Bulb Cam.

The pitch is aimed squarely indoors: put it in a ceiling socket in a living room or hallway, or in a garage fixture, and one device lights the room and watches it. It installs in about a minute, with no wiring, no drilling and no charging, because it draws continuous power from the socket. A switch cover is included so nobody kills power by flipping the wall switch.

Privacy is handled physically: in Privacy Mode the lens rotates into the housing and audio recording stops, and when Privacy Mode is switched off, the lens returns to its exact previous position.

One honest note: Wyze also pitches porch sockets for this camera. This is a spec-based first look, and it covers the Bulb Cam Pan Color as an indoor ceiling and garage camera, which is how Wyze itself frames the ceiling-socket use. For a different no-wiring approach from the same brand, see Wyze's other no-wiring trick, the window-mount Window Cam.

The light

The bulb half of the device puts out up to 1,100 lumens, dimmable in the Wyze app, in 16 million colors with tunable white from 1800K to 6500K. Ambient Light and Motion Light modes each get their own schedule, color and brightness.

Wyze Bulb Cam Pan Color synced with Wyze Bulb Color bulbs

The Bulb Cam Pan Color syncs with Wyze Bulb Color bulbs, with no limit on the number linked, but it does not work with Wyze Accessory Bulbs.

Fit and installation

Installation is a standard E26 light socket on 120V AC continuous power, with Bluetooth pairing in the Wyze app. A switch cover and a socket adapter are included in the box.

Wyze Bulb Cam Pan Color fixture fit chart showing which sconces work

Fit is the catch: the telescopic rod extends 1.2 in, and with the included socket adapter the unit extends up to about 4.2 in total (13 in overall). It measures 70 × 70 × 250 mm collapsed (about 280 mm extended), weighs 565 g, and fits open-ended sconces with at least 75 mm internal diameter.

What changed vs the original Wyze Bulb Cam

Against the original Wyze Bulb Cam (2025), with its specs verified on Wyze's official Bulb Cam page:

  • Motorized pan-tilt with auto-tracking (original: manual adjustment only)
  • 2.5K video (original: 2K, 2304×1296)
  • Color light: 1,100 lumens, 16M colors, 1800K–6500K (original: 800 lumens, fixed 3000K white)
  • microSD up to 512GB (original: up to 256GB)
  • Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (original: 2.4 GHz only)
  • Price doubles: $99.98 vs the original, which remains on sale

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Fastest possible install: screw into an existing ceiling/garage socket, about a minute, continuous power — no charging, no cables
  • Free AI tracking and 24/7 local recording soften the Cam Plus upsell
  • The light is genuinely useful indoors: 1,100 lumens with separate ambient and motion schedules
  • Real privacy move: lens physically rotates into the housing and audio stops

Cons

  • $99.98 is double the original Bulb Cam
  • It is long: 9.8 in collapsed and up to 13 in with the socket adapter, so deep or frosted-glass fixtures are out (Wyze's own fit guide rules out frosted glass and fixtures longer than 25 cm)
  • AI notifications and cloud clips still need Cam Plus
  • No HomeKit or Matter support listed; the socket must stay switched on (switch cover mitigates, not eliminates)

Who it's for

  • Renters and anyone who cannot drill or run cables but has a ceiling socket in the room they want covered
  • Garage coverage where the only power is the ceiling fixture
  • Wyze households that want light + camera in one device

It is not for HomeKit/Matter homes, buyers who want a battery camera, or anyone whose room has no suitable E26 ceiling fixture.
