TL;DR

The Wyze Window Cam is a $34.98 indoor camera that sticks directly onto window glass with an adhesive mount, so you can watch your porch, driveway, or yard from inside without reflections ruining the night footage. On paper it delivers 1080p video, color night vision, two-way audio, and up to 512 GB of local microSD storage. Its biggest trade-off is the mounting sticker, which is single-use: moving the camera means starting over with the spare sticker.

Overview

Pointing a regular indoor camera at a window is a classic recipe for disappointment: at night the infrared LEDs bounce off the glass, leaving you with a bright white haze instead of a view of the street. The Wyze Window Cam (model WYZECWC) exists to solve exactly that problem. It's designed to press flat against the inside of a window, and Wyze deliberately removed the IR lights and spotlight from the design so reflections don't wash out the footage. Instead it leans on color night vision to see after dark.

Physically it's a tiny white cube — 2.05 × 2.05 × 2.05 inches (52 mm on each side) and just 2.75 oz — that attaches with a hook-and-loop fastener mounting sticker rather than screws or brackets. Wyze includes two stickers in the box, plus a 10-foot micro-USB power cable and cable clips for tidy routing along the windowsill. Since it's an indoor-rated device that happens to look out, it fills a niche between indoor cams and full outdoor cameras. If you're comparing siblings in the Wyze family, our Wyze Cam v4 review covers the sharper 2.5K model for standard placements, and our Wyze Cam Pan v4 review covers the pan-and-tilt option for whole-room coverage.

Specs sourced from the official Wyze Window Cam product page at wyze.com (checked October 2026). One note: some marketing bullets on Wyze's page mention "2K HD video," but the official spec table lists 1920 × 1080 — so count on 1080p.

Key features

Anti-glare window design

This is the camera's entire reason to exist. By mounting the lens flush against the glass and eliminating IR lights and the spotlight, Wyze removes the two things that cause night-time reflections: LED bounce and gaps between lens and glass. The wide mounting sticker also blocks indoor light leaking in behind the camera, which is a common secondary source of glare.

The anti-glare design keeps nighttime footage clear of reflections.

Color night vision

Without IR LEDs, the Window Cam relies on its CMOS sensor's low-light sensitivity for color night vision — Wyze rates it for seeing in full color even in near-darkness. Expect some dependence on ambient light from streetlights or porch lights; in pitch-black conditions performance will fall off compared to IR-equipped cameras like the Wyze Cam OG.

Tool-free window mounting

The peel-and-stick system is genuinely renter-friendly: clean the glass, press the sticker on horizontally, press the camera on. The sticker is single-use, so plan the placement — but Wyze includes a spare. Removal takes a hair dryer to soften the adhesive plus a plastic scraper and a wipe-down with isopropyl alcohol.

10-foot cable and tidy mounting

The included 10 ft (3 m) micro-USB cable is longer than the typical 6-foot camera cable, and the in-box cable clips route it along the sill. If you need more context on plug-in placement options generally, see our roundup of the best plug-in indoor cameras.

Local storage and AI detection

Like other Wyze cams, it takes microSD cards up to 512 GB in exFAT format for continuous local recording, and a Cam Plus subscription adds person, pet, package, and vehicle detection with unlimited cloud event history (a free 30-day trial is included). Bluetooth-assisted setup and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi 6 support round out the connectivity story.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Solves the window-reflection problem by design — flush glass mount, no IR lights or spotlight
  • Very affordable at $34.98, with 2- and 3-packs that drop the per-camera price further
  • True local storage: up to 512 GB microSD with no subscription required for continuous recording
  • Renter-friendly, tool-free peel-and-stick install with a spare sticker in the box
  • Extra-long 10 ft cable plus cable clips make clean window installs realistic
  • Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT integrations; solid Wyze app with motion zones and automations

Cons

  • Only 1080p — a step below 2.5K siblings like the Wyze Cam v4 for identifying faces or plates at distance
  • Mounting sticker is single-use; repositioning the camera costs you the spare
  • No IR night vision — in very dark scenes it can't match IR-equipped cameras
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only; the micro-USB port feels dated next to USB-C models
  • Indoor-only rating: it never sits outside, so heavy weather protection is a non-issue, but the glass it sticks to limits where it can go (and Wyze warns against screened windows, which degrade quality)

Who it's for

This camera is for anyone who wants to watch the outside world from inside: apartment dwellers monitoring a parking lot, homeowners keeping an eye on the porch or driveway without wiring an outdoor camera, and renters who can't drill. It's also a smart pick for people who already own Wyze products and want everything in one app. It is not for you if you need maximum detail at distance (look at a 2.5K outdoor camera instead), need to see behind screens, or want a camera you can reposition often — the single-use sticker argues for a permanent spot.

FAQ

Does the Wyze Window Cam work behind any window?

It mounts on clean window glass. Wyze specifically warns against placing it behind a screened window, since the screen degrades video quality. Low-E or heavily tinted glass may also affect clarity, so a plain window is the safest bet.

Why doesn't it have infrared night vision?

Wyze removed the IR LEDs and spotlight on purpose: IR light bounces off glass and ruins nighttime footage. Instead the camera uses color night vision from its sensor. In very dark conditions with no ambient light, its night performance won't match IR-equipped cameras.

Can you move the camera after mounting it?

Yes, but the mounting sticker is single-use and can't be reused after removal. Wyze includes two stickers, so you get one relocation. Removing one takes heat (a hair dryer), a plastic scraper, and isopropyl alcohol for residue.

Does it need a subscription?

No. The camera works standalone with a microSD card (up to 512 GB) for local recording. A Cam Plus subscription ($2.99/mo after a 30-day free trial) adds AI detection categories and unlimited cloud event storage.

Does it work with Alexa or Google Assistant?

Yes — Wyze lists Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT integrations, so you can stream the feed on smart displays and fold it into automations alongside the rest of your smart home.
