TL;DR The current main Furbo dog camera is the Furbo 360° Dog Camera: a treat-tossing pet camera with 1080p Full HD video, a rotating 360° view with auto tracking, 4x digital zoom, color night vision, real-time two-way audio and a Barking Alert that works without a subscription. The treat chamber holds 100 pieces. The catch is the split personality: live viewing, talk, treat tossing and barking alerts are camera features, but the smarter package — extra Smart Alerts, video history and the Doggie Diary — sits behind the optional Furbo Nanny subscription. On furbo.com at research time the camera was shown as low as $54 when bought with a Nanny plan (list price shown crossed through at $184), and plan pricing changes with promotions, so check the official store before buying.

Overview

Furbo's current US line-up is easy to mix up, so here is the naming clearly: the main dog camera sold on furbo.com is the Furbo 360° Dog Camera. Alongside it Furbo sells a 360° Cat Camera (with a feather wand toy), a smaller Furbo Mini (1080p, no treat toss) and a Furbo Mini 360° (2K, with a small "Lite" treat toss for up to 10 treats). This review covers only the full-size 360° Dog Camera — the one with the full 100-treat tossing chamber.

Furbo's own annotated diagram: 8.78 in tall, 4.92 in across, 750g — with the treat tosser, barking sensor and rotating base labelled. (Official Furbo product photo.)

Unlike a general-purpose security camera, every part of this design is dog-specific: it tosses treats on demand from the app, listens for barking, and uses a yellow-and-blue status light because, as Furbo puts it, those are colors dogs can see. That focus is exactly why it belongs in our roundup of the best indoor cameras for pets — and why owners who just want a cheap pan-and-tilt camera should compare it carefully against conventional rivals before paying for features they may not use.

Specs verified against furbo.com — the official Furbo 360° Dog Camera US product page and Furbo's official all-products comparison (accessed 2026-10-17) — cross-checked with Furbo's official US shop listing (shopus.furbo.com) for connectivity, power and treat-size details. Two honest flags: Furbo's current product page calls the night vision "Color Night Vision" while its older shop listing describes improved infrared night vision, and its older shop page lists different size/weight and app-requirement figures that appear to belong to the previous non-360 model; this table follows the current furbo.com product and comparison pages and Furbo's own annotated 360° diagram. Where Furbo does not publish a figure — a standalone price separate from plan offers, or any local-storage option — this review says so instead of filling the gap.

Key features

Treat tossing — the reason this camera exists

Tap a button in the Furbo app and the camera flings a treat across the room. The chamber holds 100 pieces, and Furbo recommends dry, round treats about 0.4 in (1 cm) across for reliable tossing, with a customized snack call to get your dog's attention first. No general-purpose indoor camera does this — a conventional rival such as the one in our eufy Indoor Cam E30 review can watch and talk, but it cannot reward or redirect a dog. If treat tossing is a gimmick to you, the Furbo premium is hard to justify; if your dog is anxious or bored home alone, it is the whole point.

Rotating 360° view with auto tracking

The camera head rotates for a full 360° view, and auto tracking rotates and zooms in to follow your pet as it moves — there is no fixed corner of the room where a dog can disappear from view. That puts it in the same conversation as the cameras in our guide to the best pan-and-tilt indoor cameras, with one difference: Furbo's tracking exists to follow a pet, not to patrol for intruders.

Barking Alert and two-way talk, no subscription needed

Barking detection is a core camera feature: Furbo detects barking automatically, sends a push notification, and lets you adjust the sensitivity to your dog. Real-time two-way audio then lets you speak through the built-in speaker — to calm the dog, or to pair your voice with a tossed treat. Those two features together are the core "check in and settle them" loop, and neither requires Furbo Nanny.

Furbo Nanny — what the subscription actually adds

Be clear-eyed about this split. Furbo Nanny is an optional subscription, and Furbo's own pages reserve the intelligent layer for subscribers: additional Smart Alerts (dog activity, person and home-emergency alerts among them), cloud video history, and the Doggie Diary — a daily highlight video of your dog's day. Furbo's current product page offers a free trial (14 days, per its current FAQ) and showed a Standard plan averaging $6.99/month, billed at $83.92, with 3-day video history at research time; longer plans were discounted. Without Nanny you still get the live view, two-way talk, treat tossing and barking alerts — you lose the recorded history and the smarter alerts. If reviewing what happened while you were out matters to you, budget for the subscription as part of the real cost.

Alexa, Apple Watch and a dog-proof build

Furbo lists Alexa and Apple Watch compatibility, including scheduling treat tosses by voice ("Alexa, tell Furbo to toss a treat") — handy if the camera is one stop in a wider smart home, as in our guide to the best indoor cameras for Alexa. The body is built to be knocked: industrial-strength 3M adhesive anchors it, the lid is bamboo wood, and Furbo recommends placing it 60–120 cm above the floor for the best auto-tracking angle.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Treat tossing with a large 100-piece chamber — a feature no ordinary indoor camera offers
  • Rotating 360° view with auto tracking, so a roaming dog stays in frame
  • Barking Alert and real-time two-way talk included without a subscription
  • 1080p Full HD with 4x digital zoom and color night vision
  • Designed for dogs throughout: yellow/blue status light, pet-proof build with 3M anchoring, bamboo lid
  • Alexa and Apple Watch support, including voice-scheduled treat tosses

Cons

  • The smartest features — extra Smart Alerts, video history and Doggie Diary — require the paid Furbo Nanny subscription
  • No local storage option is listed by Furbo: no microSD slot to fall back on if you skip the subscription
  • 1080p only, at a price tier where several general-purpose rivals now offer 2K or higher
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only — no 5GHz band
  • Plug-in only and tabletop-sized (8.78 in tall): it needs an outlet and a flat surface near where your dog actually spends the day
  • Pricing is plan-led and promotion-driven on Furbo's store, which makes the true standalone cost harder to pin down

Who it's for

The Furbo 360° Dog Camera is for dog owners who want to interact, not just watch: toss a treat at lunch, talk an anxious dog down after a barking alert, and follow them around the room with the rotating lens. It is especially well matched to dogs with separation anxiety and to owners who are out for long, predictable stretches — the same households weighing up our guide to the best indoor cameras for checking in on family, with a pet at the center of the check-in.

It's not for: cat-only homes (look at Furbo's 360° Cat Camera instead), anyone who refuses subscriptions on principle and needs recorded history (there is no local-storage fallback here), anyone who wants the sharpest possible video (this is 1080p), or anyone shopping for home security first — this is a pet camera that can notice a person, not a security camera that happens to see pets.

FAQ

Which Furbo model is this review about?

The Furbo 360° Dog Camera — the full-size dog camera currently sold on furbo.com, with a rotating 360° view and a 100-treat tossing chamber. It is not the Furbo Mini (a smaller 1080p camera with no treat toss), the Furbo Mini 360° (a 2K mini with a small 10-treat "Lite" toss), or the Furbo 360° Cat Camera, which is the cat version with a feather wand toy.

Do I have to pay for Furbo Nanny?

No. Furbo states that Furbo Nanny is an optional subscription. Live viewing, two-way talk, treat tossing and the Barking Alert work without it. Nanny adds the extra Smart Alerts, cloud video history and the Doggie Diary. Furbo's product page offers a free trial — 14 days according to its current FAQ — after which you choose whether to continue; at research time a Standard plan was shown averaging $6.99/month.

What treats work in the Furbo 360° Dog Camera?

Furbo recommends round-shaped treats with a diameter of about 0.4 in (1 cm), and its shop FAQ adds that dry, firm, round treats between roughly 0.2 and 0.7 in toss best. Soft, sticky or irregularly shaped treats are the ones most likely to jam a tossing mechanism, so keep to small, dry, round treats. The chamber holds up to 100 pieces.

Does the Furbo 360° Dog Camera record video?

Video history is a Furbo Nanny feature: subscribers get recorded clips of important events (the Standard plan on furbo.com showed 3-day video history at research time) plus the Doggie Diary daily highlight video. Furbo does not list any local or microSD recording for this model, so without a subscription you are limited to the live view and alerts.

Does the Furbo 360° Dog Camera work with Alexa?

Yes — Furbo lists Alexa (and Apple Watch) compatibility for this model, including using Alexa to schedule treat tossing. It connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, and setup runs through the Furbo app on iOS 18.0+ or Android 13+ with Bluetooth enabled.
