Blink Mini 2 Review: Affordable Plug-In Cam
Blink Mini 2 is fine for a hallway or spare room on a budget, but alert fine-tuning and night performance trail Wyze and eufy.
The Blink Mini 2 is Amazon’s answer to “put a camera in the guest room for cheap.” It is plug-in only, extremely small, and often bundled with Echo devices.
Performance
1080p video is acceptable for basic monitoring. Motion clips can truncate early if connectivity hiccups—use strong 2.4 GHz signal near the camera. Night vision is usable for hallways but grainier than Wyze v4 in our side-by-side.
Value proposition
Street prices under $30 make it tempting. Remember Blink Subscription for saving and sharing clips. Without it, you are limited to live view and arming schedules.
Recommendation
Buy Blink Mini 2 for a secondary room on sale. For a primary indoor camera, spend a little more on Wyze or consider eufy for better optics.
Pros
- Tiny footprint
- Easy Alexa arm/disarm
- Often on sale under $30
Cons
- Clips need Blink Subscription
- Limited placement angle
- App feels less refined than competitors
